Mid-Contract Price Increases (100–900%)

critical overage

Sortly has a documented pattern of dramatically increasing prices for long-term customers — sometimes 100–900% above the original rate — with as little as 10–30 days notice. Customers who have invested significant time entering inventory data are especially vulnerable, as switching costs create lock-in. Retention discounts of 25–40% have been offered only when customers threaten to cancel, not proactively to loyal users.

After loyally subscribing to Sortly for three years and investing countless hours entering all of our inventory data into this software, we received an email from Sortly today stating that our subscription will increase from $468 to $1467 in 30 days.

Reported Sep 2025; current pricing is $49–$299/mo (verified Nov 4, 2026).

Like many other reviewers, I started with a low cost of about $600. Now, two years later, they're asking for nearly $6,000, that's a 900% increase!

8

Auto-Renewal Without Notification

high overage

Sortly auto-renews subscriptions without sending reliable renewal reminder emails, leading to unexpected charges of hundreds of dollars. Some users report that Sortly's emails end up in spam, resulting in charges with no perceived notice. Users also report that previously paused subscriptions are automatically unpaused without warning.

I have just been charged over 400 Euro with no notification or email and renewel offer. I need this resolved asap or I will be taking legal action. I have sent a message via the app.

I signed to test their solution, everything made me feel I could test for free... as the solution was too simple and the price for the paid features super high I decided to not go further with them but silently (as their email arrives in my spams) they charged me

9

No Refunds on Accidental or Unauthorized Charges

high support

Sortly does not refund accidental purchases or unexpected renewals. Users who accidentally selected the wrong billing period report that funds are retained as account credits drawn down monthly rather than refunded. Customer support is email-only with no phone option.

trustpilot · 2026-10-01

BUYER BEWARE! I clicked on the wrong payment schedule, and immediately corrected the mistake within seconds. I changed to monthly. However, instead of refunding my credit card, Sortly KEPT the money, kept the annual subscription, and instead is "charging" against the "credit" - one month at a time. What nonsense. Also, there is no human to speak with. Its all via email.

I signed to test their solution, everything made me feel I could test for free... as the solution was too simple and the price for the paid features super high I decided to not go further with them but silently (as their email arrives in my spams) they charged me ... and of course they don't want to gave your money back.

Data Lock-In Raises Effective Switching Cost

high migration

Customers who invest hundreds of hours entering inventory data are effectively locked in. Switching to a lower plan requires manually deleting items to fit within the lower tier's item limit, which is extremely time-consuming for large inventories. Sortly's timing of price increases — after customers build large catalogs — amplifies this leverage.

We've used Sortly for over five years and built our entire inventory system around it — from thousands of items to dozens of custom fields. While the platform itself has generally served us well, we were recently faced with a nearly 300% price increase with just a couple weeks' notice... transitioning down to a lower plan would require manually deleting thousands of items and reworking core fields — all within a tight deadline.

Stay away from this company. We are a non-profit organization and started using Sortly a year ago. We paid our annual subscription and after a year of investing hundreds of man hours to get our inventory entered into the system they are now hitting us with an almost $4,000 price increase
