Hidden Costs Breakdown

1

VAT charges - All prices exclude VAT (Value Added Tax) which varies by location and is added at checkout. This can add 15-25% to the stated price depending on your country

2

Monthly vs annual pricing premium - Monthly billing costs noticeably more than annual billing on both the Standard and Pro plans. AIVA prices in EUR, so USD amounts vary with exchange rates

3

Copyright restrictions on lower tiers - Free and Standard plans do NOT grant copyright ownership; AIVA retains copyright, limiting commercial opportunities and requiring platform restrictions

4

Platform monetization restrictions - Standard plan only allows monetization on YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and Instagram. Other platforms (podcasts, films, games, commercial projects) require Pro plan upgrade

5

Download limit overage - No published overage pricing; hitting monthly limits (3, 15, or 300 downloads) requires waiting until next billing cycle or upgrading to higher tier

6

Format restrictions on lower tiers - Free and Standard plans only provide MP3 and MIDI formats. WAV and other high-quality formats require Pro plan, limiting professional audio production use

7

Track duration caps - Free plan limited to 3-minute tracks, Standard to 5 minutes, Pro to 5 minutes 30 seconds. Longer compositions require stitching multiple tracks together

8

Student discount verification - 30% annual discount and 15% monthly discount available for students/schools but requires manual verification through contact form or live chat, adding friction

9

Enterprise pricing opacity - No published enterprise pricing; requires sales contact with typical markups of 2-5x Pro plan pricing for high-volume commercial use

10

No refund policy clarity - User reports suggest difficulty obtaining refunds; cancellation and refund terms are not prominently disclosed on pricing page

11

Attribution requirement on free tier - Free plan requires credit to AIVA, adding friction for public releases and potentially affecting brand presentation

12

No API access on standard plans - API access for automated music generation not available on published tiers; likely requires Enterprise plan negotiation
